For feeding hay, grain, haylage, silage, TMR, etc., bunk feeders are just about the most versatile type of feeder you can find. When feeding calves, though, the problem with some feeders is that they’re too high for young cattle. Farmco’s calf hay feeder solves this problem by adding adjustable legs that allow the height of the feeder to change along with the height of the herd.
The trough on our calf hay feeder is 32″ wide, so you can pile on lots of nutrition at every feeding. It also uses sloped sides to make cleaning easy, as well as four drain holes to keep water from accumulating in the feeder. With sizes up to 16’ long, we have calf hay feeders that can feed up to 30 calves at a time.
Our metal hay feeders for calves come standard with slant bars welded around the perimeter to keep calves calmer during feeding and cut back on feed waste. The entire metal hay feeder is supported by adjustable steel legs with corner reinforcements.
