For true horse lovers, nothing is more important than the safety of our animals. From feeding to grooming to bedding, we’re always on the lookout for anything that could harm our animals and compromise their safety. That’s the mindset we had when we designed our 45H outdoor horse hay feeder. We want every horse feeder for sale from Farmco to be 100% safe for horses. With the 45H outdoor horse hay feeder, we approached safety in a couple of ways.

First off, we believe wet, soggy hay is not ideal for horses. But disposing of wet hay after each rainstorm wastes feed and drives up cost. So, we added the option of a roof (with a 10-year warranty) to our outdoor horse hay feeders. When it rains on one of our horse feeders, hay stays much drier, meaning better feed for your animals and less hay waste for you. Speaking of the roof, that’s another area where we made some adjustments for safety. Since this feeder is lower than many of our other models, we designed a durable plastic roof with rounded corners to protect horses’ heads as they feed.

We offer the 45H pasture horse feeder for sale with a 4’x5’ trough and a hay rack above it. The trough allows feeding of grain, minerals, and other loose feeds, as well as catching loose hay falling from the hay rack, reducing waste. One end of the hay rack is a gate (with a horse-proof latch), which allows easy loading of up to 4 small square bales. (For the next size up, check out our HF Series covered hay feeder.) Optionally, you can also add a net panel to the feeder, essentially making it into a slow feeder.
